Q + A

When and how do I RSVP?

We will send formal invitations and RSVP requests around May 2025. You'll be able to RSVP here on our website.

When and where are the events?

We'll be having 3 events in the Bay Area across August 30th and 31st, 2025. The Haldi will be Aug 30th, 10am-1pm at the Triton Museum of Art in Santa Clara, CA. The Mehendi will be Aug 30th, 7pm -10pm, also at the Triton Museum of Art in Santa Clara. The wedding ceremony and reception will be Aug 31st, 4:30pm - 10:30pm at Kohl Mansion in Burlingame. Please see the home page for more detailed information.

What is a Haldi?

The Haldi ceremony is a joyful pre-wedding ritual where family and friends apply a mixture of turmeric, sandalwood, and rose water to the bride and groom. This tradition is believed to bless the couple with radiant skin, protect them from evil, and bring good fortune for their upcoming marriage. Our Haldi will be an outdoor brunch event with dosas and mimosas served for guests.

What is a Mehendi?

The Mehendi ceremony will be a colorful and fun-filled event, where intricate henna designs will be drawn on Praj's hands and feet. It’s believed that the darker the henna, the stronger the love between the couple, and the longer it lasts, the more blessings and luck the marriage will have. Our event will be a cocktail hour, and guests will also have the chance to have small henna designs drawn on them.

What should I wear to the Haldi?

We recommend dressy casual attire for an outdoor event. Guests typically wear comfortable, bright, and festive clothing, usually in shades of yellow or orange. Since Haldi paste can get on clothes, it’s best to avoid anything too delicate. Western or Indian attire are both completely acceptable!

What should I wear to the Mehendi?

Cocktail attire of any type is perfect for this event, but shades of green are the most typical. If you want to get henna applied, we suggest wearing short sleeves or something with easy-to-roll-up sleeves. Western or Indian attire are again both completely acceptable!

Where should I stay?

Please see the "Travel" tab of the website for lodging and transportation information. We will continue to update it with additional options closer to the wedding date.

Do you have a registry?
